Charity Organisation
The Kokoda Track Foundation is an Australian philanthropic organisation which aims to repay the selfless help given to Australia during WWII by the ‘Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels’ of Papua New Guinea, by helping to improve the lives and futures of their descendants.
The Foundation does this by assisting with their education and healthcare, by trying to protect their environment, by helping to foster the growth of an eco-friendly trekking and tourism industry from which they can benefit, by working to keep the story of Kokoda alive, and by seeking to identify and foster the next generation of PNG leaders.

Footwear Program
Unfortunately there are too many Porters walking along the Kokoda Track without shoes or if they do have them, they are inappropriate or inadequate. Whilst some of the bare footed Porters choose to walk without shoes, many would prefer them. Shoes obviously protects the feet from cuts and abrasions, whilst providing cushioning for the joints in the ankle, knees, hips and back.
We are collecting appropriate shoes for ALL Porters along the Track. If we come across a porter without good walking shoes then we will offer them some from our donations.
If you have walking shoes and boots (in good condition sizes 6-11) that you no longer need and you would like to donat, please send them to P.O Box 1062, Newport, New South Wales, Australia, 2106.
We will take them with us on our next trip and give them to the Porters that need shoes.
